Hey all,

I was wondering about the belts that come with the AFX pulley. I hear they are not that good in quality and that I should go with a Goodyear belt. Can anyone tell me the part number for this change? I really dont want to put them on then end up changing them because they squeal. Thanks all

take it to a shop and have them use their belt sizer and get one the same size most shops have one

i dont know why people think its the quality of the belt thats causeing the squeal..in my opinion its the tension of the belts. just tighten them you dont need to buy new belts

I agree magnus. RRE installed mine, and after a couple days, it started sqeaking (because its natural for the belts to stretch a little after inital use). They tightened it, and now it's been fine for almost 2 months...

Thank you guys!!! Yes, belts stretch. When mine where first installed I had nothing, I have just started to hear a slight noice at idle, but I haven't had the time to go and retension them.

And DON"T use belt dressing, it only dries out the belts and decreases the life of the belts.

And I used the ones that came with the pulley. I just put them on a tiny bit too tight so that when they stretched they would be okay..and they are. Just don't tighten to much because it will wear out the bearings in the Power steering pump and water pump.
