What is the performance/wear difference between ceramic coated headers and just plain old steel? Also is pace setter a good brand?

pacesetter is cheap, thats all i can say, if your into looks, dont get it, they also dont always fit well, you get what you pay for. the good steel ones will last as long as ceramic though

how about the ceramic pacesetters? how do they measure up?
it seems there is a consensus that the pacesetter steel (black) ones will look like crap. anybody have those chikaras? i am contemplating getting headers but i wanna make sure i do not lose any low end torque. which brands have the 4-2-1? am i the only one who cringes at the thought of spending 400+ bucks on headers... ?

bare steel only last if its constantly heat cycled so if your car ever sits for long periods without being driven then you need ceramic coated headers. If you want your headers to look good more more than 1 minute after you put them on the car you still want ceramic. You likely wont feel any performance difference. Pacesetter is low quality and may require a little work to fit (dont try to install pacesetter headers in your driveway. prefereably a muffler shop) but will do. I had em before.

What would(will) I buy? Ceramic coated interior and exterior. Any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. If you run the car daily the steel will last a long time, but like Stan said if you rcar sits for any period of time (like mine) then go ceramic. standing moisture doesn't affect the ceramic coating, but will rust bare steel. Also ceramic coated heaters have better heat dissipating properties than steel, and will keep things a little cooler than a steel header.

One other place to look that I just noticed was Extreme Motorsports. They list theirs at only $275, which was a complete surprise to me. I thought they were much more than that before.

I heard the 4-1 are better than 4-2-1. I was thinking about Greddy. I hear good things about hotshot, but don't know where to get them I was gonna get stainless steel. I am not getting headers though. I am gonna wait till I go turbo. It would just be a waste of $$$ right now.

4-1 is a top end header, chances are youll lose bottom end with a 4-1. 4-2-1 will offer less top end gain but more mid and low end gain
