I want to take out my a/c. anybody done this? How hard is it and also did you get any gain out of it?

Yeah, it was too cluttered in the engine bay for my taste, so the ac had to go... it might make a reappearance later in its years, or might go full drag, no tellin right now, but removing the ac definately got rid of atleast 40 lbs of dead weight, you get rid of that big tensioner assembly, and the ac compressor, and refridgerent lines n shit.... 1 less pulley to be turning, but i doubt it upped the hp more than 1 pony at best, hehe. btw, go hoosiers! we might not have won, and the game sure sucked ass the first half for both teams, but the hoosiers definately ended the season better than they were looking midseason.

Then how does the PS belt stay on? i have been considering doing this because I have soem A/C valve (the one with the little glass window on top) that is clunking.It is annoying the crap out of me, so i want to keep my P/S, but get rid of the A/C.Is this possible?

yeah, if you get rid of the tensioner, then you will use the power steering assembly to adjust the tension, it rocks back and forth, think there was 3 bolts that you loosten, then you can pull the belt tight and tighten them back down, but you will have to get a new belt, just use a string to measure what size you'll need.

Do any of you have the high pressure rubber hose line? There are two rubber lines and the one I need is the one closest to the downpipe (the high pressure one). It connects to the AC compressor. I have a leak in mine and need another to replace it. TIA

I am wondering if I should do it or not.In ORegon we rarely ever get above 90, and If it does get that hot I could just crank down the windows.hmm?

Unless you just want to waste some time, just leave it... I am torn between keeping my car on the street or just drag only... plus in indiana it doesnt get too killer in the summer anyways, windows down is just fine unless you have to wear a suit to work everyday... which I do and still survive...
