My friend, who is a Honda guy, has a 420A bottom end and wants to get rid of it and since we r boys he is giving it to me for $100!!! I was thinking in the future I could possibly build it up and drop it in my car and some point when I get greedy and wanna spray and/or run more boost. Usually if u wanna rebuild your motor it takes forever and u dont have a car for awhile so this sounds like a great deal. So now I can do it in small steps and take my time and still have my car. Anything I should look for on this bottom end before I rebuild it? Since its only $100 its not biggy so I might take it apart and see if my friends and I can rebuild that bottom end ourselves. I just dont wanna waste $ on Howell kit if this bottom end is in bad condition. I want be rebuilding it for awhile but I just figured Id bring it up now. Thanks -Dave

Depending on the condition of the engine - you may need to have it machined. Check to see if the piston bores still have good cross-hatching on them... if not you may need to take it to a machine shop to have it worked on. With a factory service manual and a couple of guages you can check some critial dimensions and make sure everything is in spec.
Hope this helps.
