#15210, "Need help for a motor mount"

I am getting my timing belt replaced and my freind (the mechanic) shows me the motor mount and and said that it is cracked. He showed it to me and it is cracked on the inside of the mount, it looked like the rubber part? He also said that it is prety expensive to replace so I am gonna ask...

1. Is is all THAT expensive.
2. Would anything bad happen if i didn't get it changed

All help is needed!

Motor mounts are cheap. Look into prothane or energy suspension. You could fill it yourself for even less as well.

They are very important so I would look into having it fixed soon. You can drive around on a cracked motor mount as long as you take it easy.

Energy Suspensions has them for under $30 shipped, don't they?

Check out the Handling/Suspension section, there have been a bunch of posts on motor mounts.

Yeah Energy Suspension are great inserts except you can't use them on a cracked motor ount, you'll have to replace the broken one first.

Not according to their website. They say you can use them with broken mounts which makes sense because of how they fill in the airspace in the stock mount.
