#137609, "RPMs at idle"

Just wondering what everyone's rpms are at when idle? Not sure if it matters if you're auto or manual. Mine(auto) is smooth when it's at 800 or 900 rpms, but it's been sitting at like 600/700 lately...little rough. This is only in drive, fine when in park. Any thoughts why?

I've got a fuel filter but haven't changed it yet. Already changed the IAC and cleaned the TB...also did a tune up.

There's a guy on Tuners with the same problem. His car shook a little more violently than yours but he replaced the throttle body (he also had recently cleaned his old one) at that solved his problem.

It's been awhile since I drove my car so I don't remember the standing idle speed.

It wasn't his TB. He changed it and it fixed his problem but it was either a sensor on the TB or he needed to clean his TB.

An she should idle around 800 depending on mods etc. Sinc eyou already cleaned your TB, maybe a tune up is in order? Possibly the IAC going bad or clogged at the pintle (but you did say you cleaned your TB, so you should have already pulled out the IAC and cleaned off the pintle and appropriate idle channel).

This thread helps me too because my head gasket is leaking and the car idle's rough at times. I pulled the air intake pipe off and the tb is coated in oil so hopefully cleaning it will fix the rough idle.
