Installed my crank sprocket today. Took a picture of where I slipped the feeler gauge in. The oil pump has a little lip, but I measured from outside of that lip as you can see in the picture and got .052 inches for clearance. Would this be acceptable or do I need to be measuring from the inside lip with a greater or lesser clearance?

The book doesn't give the spec for that i dont think. I didn't see it just scanning over it real quick but i stuck a feeler gauge on my new engine on the stand and it was .052 also. Tight fit at .052 but it went in. So what mike said, it looks good!

The FSM does. Your book sucks.
I remember the spec being larger than .052, so you're fine. That's one of those things I tend to just eyeball.
