Ok this isnt my first rebuild of a 420a....maybe 5 or 6. Anyways I have never had this problem. I decided to rebuild it to basically stock specs becuase I needed a car to get me around for a few months. I did .040" factory replacement pistons, resized rods, clevite bearings, clutchmaster clutch, pt style rockers and lifters, PD mechanical tensioner. Mods are UDP, 255 walbro pump, short ram intake, 55mm TB, OBX Intake Manifold, 4-1 Header, 2.25" exhaust, testpipe. Oh yea, the head has a 3angle and was milled .005".
Ok, when I start the car it take like 15sec or so of cranking to get it to start. It always starts though. When it idles it sounds like it has a lope. Like a big cammed v8. So at first I though timing, but it looks like the marks are on. Could this from the manifold?? Sensors?? Any ideas??
Also the emissions stuff such as EGR, canister, etc has been removed.
The car runs fine, I have drove it almost 2500 miles already and it gets 30mpg and has no problems cruising down the road, and runs fine other than a little rough at idle.
Sorry so long. Any ideas?? Are the two even related?? 1995 Eagle Talon ESi Powered by NX wet kit
