ok, when i bought the car, the CEL bulb was removed, so i put it back in, and it was blinking right away, so SOMEBODY clearly didnt want me to know what was going on with the car, so who knows what kind of damage could have happened while this was going on? anyways, i swapped the coil, wires and plugs with the ones from my old car, and no more blinky light.
over the weekend i swapped my head and all my other parts from my old car, and afterwards, it was running fine. tuesday i ran some seafoam in there, and wednesday i put new plugs in, since my old ones were pretty black from the leaky valve seals and the seafoam, altho i didnt change the gap since i didnt have my plug gapper, it was still running fine. that night, my crank bolt came loose, and i lost my alternator belt, so i had to drive home with the battery light on, which was only 5 minutes or so, but it was still running fine. thursday, i put a new belt on, put a new radiator cap on since mine was bad, and changed the rubber hoses for the intake to a different color. i started it up, and it was backfiring, and running rough and the CEL was blinking again. so i swapped the plugs, no more backfire, but still blinky CEL, reset the comp, still blinky CEL and running rough, so i tried another coil i had, same thing?
the car has new plugs like i mentioned, and new remanufactured injectors from NOPI. only have like 300 miles on them, and i tried 2 sets of wires, and 3 different coils, but its still doing the same thing? what could have happened within the 3 days to make this happen? i havent had a chance to look at the timing, but from lookin at it without checking it, it looks fine. i also havent had a chance to check compression either, but i will check today after work... could it have anything to do with the fact that the wires for the coil harness have been cut and splice locked together? it was like that when i bought the car, it looks like he bought the wrong coil, since it has round pins, but i thought 97+ have flat pins? any ideas anyone?
