You can get in there with removing the hose. You CAN also do it without taking out coolant, if you so desire. Just have the new one ready to go in, throw a rag below the area and do the switcheroo. You'll lose a little coolant but nothing that the rag won't catch. Oh keep your coolant cap on, that way the cooling system can't draw in air. Therefore, water/coolant will come out slower.
