I posted a question a while ago asking if you could use a stock neon block with an eclipse head and if it would run alright..... anyways, i recently put a 98? neon sohc block with a 97 eclipse head and it runs great. idles smooth, accellerates smooth. everything worked out fine. and the neon engine cost me $150, compared to $900 for an eclipse engine. just thought id let you know that it worked. doug

You might be able to run more boost but you won't make anymore power because of the different compression ratio. Rebuild with forged internals and boost away.
