I posted a question a while ago asking if you could use a stock neon block with an eclipse head and if it would run alright..... anyways, i recently put a 98? neon sohc block with a 97 eclipse head and it runs great. idles smooth, accellerates smooth. everything worked out fine. and the neon engine cost me $150, compared to $900 for an eclipse engine. just thought id let you know that it worked.

lol, we know it would work. Just saying that the pistons are dfferent for the SOHC and the DOHC, but it will work.

Most of my rebuilds have been on Neon blocks.

I just don't use the low compression dished pistons that come with the SOHC.

You now have a 120hp car instead of 140hp. :shrug

If I use the SOHC Pistons on the rebuild will that allow me to run more boost or will the motor be more boost friendly. I would love to know .... :bowdown

You might be able to run more boost but you won't make anymore power because of the different compression ratio. Rebuild with forged internals and boost away.
