#2996, "Welding Diff. Pin?"

I don't know much about trannies. Does anyone have a write-up or a pic of where I need to weld it?

If you look at the diff, it's as obvious as it can possibly be. Look for the big steel shaft that goes through the carrier.

I too am going to be rebuilding my tranny and using an LSD insert. I'm curious about this as well.

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?

a welded diff WITH a pg would be pointless as far as my knowledge serves. and safing brackes supposedly keep the pin in there. welding the diff shut would work too i guess. but i don't think ya wanna weld it and then install a pg... *shrug*

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

The questions was about welding the pin in place instead of using the brackets. Either method will work fine.

You definitely DO NOT want to weld the diff.
