Never had this problem until I boosted the car. It doesn't happen all the time, but I don't really like it.

Any ideas what's going on and what needs to be done to fix it? Thanks.

First thing to check will be fluid. Check the fluid with the car fully warmed up, on a level surface, and running in Park. You might also smell the fluid and see if it looks foamy. Since that is so easy to do, you better do it first. Then you can move on to more expensive and complex things.

Well I took the car out & checked the tranny fluid. The color was red, no foam, no smell, and the level was at the low end of hot. However, I have been experiencing some "grinding" in lower speeds that seemed to come from the front drivers side. As it turns out the drivers CV boot is completely torn. Could this be causing the "clunking" when I change into gear if the grease is leaking out?

With the axle assembly will that be easier than doing just the inside drivers boot? Timewise which way would be quicker?

I know my owners manual says "N", but I've read a couple other sources that say "P". I eventually concluded that it was a typo and wrote "P" in my manual. For me, anyway, it doesn't make a lick of difference.
