As far as hooking up remote start to a manual, don't. Or read this post if you have faith in your electrical skills:

http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77990&highlight=remote+start

Basically you can either use a mercury tilt switch + your ebrake, or even safer, use a magnetic window security switch + your ebrake, as no go sensors.

I recommend a Viper 791.

I used both an e brake merc switch, and also a merc switch on my shifter lever. There is already a hole on the shifter, and a DEI merc switch has a metal mounting tab on it. I just bolted the switch to the shifter, and wired it up. So now, if the shifter is forward in any gear, it wont start, along with the ebrake needing to be up. If the shifter is in N, then its ready for takeoff emoji I've posted pics of this setup before..in a post here somewhere..do a search
