sorry, i hit return/enter.
anyways, i took my shit to satan yesterday, and they did some diagnostic check and sum othr shit, but when i leave my stereo sounds like shit. now the positive terminal on the battery has always been all corroded and shit ever since i got my system. anyways, i get into my ride and start drivin, turn her up and its all barnk, barnk, not boom boom like it should be, and im like WTF, i call the dealer and talk shit to them.
well i figured it out, when the guys who installed my amp put the power connection to the battery, they just shoved the wired between some other connectors and tightened it up. the wire had seemed to get out of funk and not connect with the terminal like it should so, needless to say, the corrosion ate into the wire like 2 inches so i chopped it off and put a connector on it. cleaned up the battery terminal a lil bit, and put the connector back on the positive terminal.
has this happened to anybody w/ the corrosion eating into your power wire?? it ate into it deep, and so much that when i first looked at the connection and grabbed the wire, it popped out and was all white and sticky.
im not running much power at all, like 300 max to 2 speakers bridged at 150x2. so like 100 rms if it is even that high.
i got 100 watt rms pioneers, and my POS amp distorts them when i turn it up. its a swap meet amp, mobile authority 54xi. i dropped 100 bux on the amp, and 100 bux on the speakers with a 4 yr warranty on them biatches. i have blown 2 of them so far, and got 3 yrs left to blow some more.
i guess im in need of a better amp, speakers, and a box thats the right size for the speakers, but for now my shit is alright
anyways, after i put the power cable onto the battery the correct way, my system is back to normal(if you wanna call it a system)
