I want Alpine Type Rs just becuase they are Alpine and I want to go all Alpine, but what about them Solobarics? Which would hit harder? 2 square 10s or 2 Type R 12s? They said that one square 10 has 30% more surface area then a traditional 10, so its hits harder as a traditional 12. Which setup would you go? Which one hits harder? What if I got 2 square 12s? That would hit hard as hell huh?

heres my opinion from my personal experience...
a sub is only as good as its enclosure. put a good sub in a crappy box and it will sound terrible. spend a few hours designing and constructing a box for your radio shack sub and it will sound great. pre-fab boxes tend to be great assuming they fall within the proper specifications of the sub. go with whatever sub you want, but make sure you can put them in the correct enclosure, otherwise theres no point.
that being said, i prefer the kickers, although im not a big fan of them. i just dont like the alpines more

I would go with the solo's. I think I'm gonna go with a single JL 10w7. I heard one the other day and it SLAAAAMMMMED! Kinda pricey though, but sometimes you get what you pay for!

are you sure you saw 2 12" L7's because those are like the top of the line square solobarics. i would like to see that price in person. They have L5's which are cheaper but im talkin about L7's and yes they are brand new...i distribute car audio.

Im going with the Type Rs...my gurl is gettin 2 10s solobarix or 1 15, i heard one of those JL w7 yesterday...and all i can say is DIAMN, but i dont have $800 a sub tho...are those type rs new?
