#100456, "Crankcase ventilation question" Jun-12-07 02:56 PM by jack_of_trades
So I went to the track last week and before I went I bypassed my PCV system and have both outlets on the VC running to my catch can. After 3 passes and a few pulls on the highway, not a drop of oil in the can
I do have a decent amount of blow-by gases escaping out of the catch can breather when idling(about as much as a lit cigarette or two) and wondered if anyone runs the full atmoshpering crankcase ventilation setup too. I just did a compression check and its 200psi across the board. I'm assuming this is a normal amount considering it normalling would just be sucked into the intake with the stock PCV system. Just wanna make sure. Thanks guys.
P.S. I have had a bad ringland before and know how much blow-by comes out of the breather when that happens and this is WAYYY less, lol. Before someone mentioned the ringland thing.
