Here is some more info I gathered...

As you are looking at the back of the cluster, connector C-04 is on your right and pin #47 is the connection to the oil pressure switch (see photo). This is the wire that leads to the oil pressure switch and is looking for a ground condition when oil pressure fails.

Pin #41 is for the oil pressure sending unit. On the RS instument cluster you will see it is not even connected to the flexible traces even though there is a wire in the C-04 connector that could match up to it.

If you look at the back of the Avenger 420A cluster you will see that pin #41 is connected to the oil pressure gauge. It is possible that a previous owner of your vehicle made the further connection below the dash and installed a sending unit. More than likely it would be "T"d at the oil pressure switch. Have you been under the car to look for that?

Happily it looks like it would be a little easier for me to do this same upgrade while updating the rest of my instruments.

Please note that if you are following the factory wiring schematics, the pin numbering on the flexible circuitboard on all of the clusters is NOT correct.

Sitting in the car this connector is on the far left as you view where the cluster used to be installed. Note that there is a wire installed in position #41 even though it connects to a blank spot on the RS cluster circuitboard. This gives me hope to find that wire under the dash and route it to a sending unit that I will "T" off the existing sending switch. This would allow me to use the Avenbger cluster in my car, after a few other mods, and then I would have an oil pressure gauge in a factory position like the OP has (I hope).

This is the back of an RS cluster (manual) and shows that Pin #41 does not connect to anything.

This is the back of an Avenger cluster and shows that Pin #41 has continuity to the oil pressure gauge, which is the silver screw shown in the lower right corner of the photo.
