You are right..the sidepieces are fastened first with two screws( you access them when you open the trunk) that attach the painted cover to the metal bracket wich is mounted on the body with 5 screws ,who in their turn goes through plastic fasteners that runs through the body.When you loosen the two first ones to remove the painted cover..you will see what I mean.To get rid of the platic pieces you just use a screwdriver and pry it off.

PS: The only bolts on this subjects are the ones holding the centerpiece of the wing in place.The side pieeces are all with x-screws.
