840, How easy is it to...

I'm going to buy a stock 3 piece spoiler off of somebody to put on my talon . Only problem is the spoiler is still on the guy's car. I figure that the center section is easy enough to unbolt, but I'm not sure how to get at the bolts for the side pieces. I haven't checked out his car yet to examine the bolts. Do you just pull some trim out of the trunk to access the bolts? Any tips would be appreciated.

i know there is 5 smaller bolts that holds the side but thats all i know ill ask GsSweeden he knows :) what size and stuff of the bolts

well i removed my factory spoiler but it was almost 2 years ago that i did it. if i remember correctly you have to pull the painted section of the spoiler off (it may be bolts in the trunk i cant believe i forgot this) but under the actual spoiler are the black brackets that hold it on, but i could swear they were held in with phillips screws and not bolts. not much helop i know but i am almost positive that you have to firmly pull the spoiler cover off first

LAST EDITED ON 19-Jan-01 AT 05:31 AM (PST)You are right..the sidepieces are fastened first with two screws( you access them when you open the trunk) that attach the painted cover to the metal bracket wich is mounted on the body with 5 screws ,who in their turn goes through plastic fasteners that runs through the body.When you loosen the two first ones to remove the painted cover..you will see what I mean.To get rid of the platic pieces you just use a screwdriver and pry it off.

PS: The only bolts on this subjects are the ones holding the centerpiece of the wing in place.The side pieeces are all with x-screws.
