If anyone goes this route, make ABSOLUTELY sure you aren't going to rub through the insulation on the wires. A few layers of electrical tape will not cut it. Get a grommet of some sort or even use a piece of rubber cut from an old bicycle inner tube and wrap it around the wires using a few layers of tape to keep it secure.
