Agreed. No reason for personal attacks (hmm, McCainesque tactics, lol. Alright, just kidding, just kidding).

I actually like and respect both candidates this year. This gives me a reason to make a positive choice instead of a negative vote (i.e. voting for someone instead of against someone).

I'm also voting on a different reasoning this year. After the last 8 years of smash mouth political choice (I'm just gonna shove it down your throat. You can lump it), I feel like we have a couple of candidiates who are willing to work with people using things like description and communication. I'm looking at the position of the president as being not only a facilitator but, maybe more importantly, a communicator. Unless we have more of the political, emotional choices (i.e. let's go to war! I got a reason now!), the next president will have to be able to communicate with others (not just in our own country but throughout the world). Like it or not guys, we are now a world economy. We must participate and negotiate with the other countries of the world.

The issues are what the issues are (I know sounds kinda simplistic there Joe The Plumber). I see the positions of the two main choices and I'm honestly not to happy or unhappy with either position (if done properly). I believe the Senate and the House will keep either of the candidates from going too far off the center (yeah a bit of idealism in there). I can see integrity and sincerity in each candidate. Damn, imagine that!

So, again, the basis of my choice will be who has the better ability to communicate, discuss, debate ideas (with our own interests in mind), generate a calm strong demeanor in the face of attacks and help people understand that our way will help them in the long run.

Imo, one of these candidates show these qualities at a Reaganesque level. That's the one I'm voting for.
