Yes, Ford keeps the low end mustang at a reasonable price, but what about a cobra or whatever? You getting higher in price, like the Corvette is. The vette is deffinately over priced, but for any high end car, what do you want? You want to pay $30k for it? Never will happen.

You're completely missing Terry's point about the Corvette, Mike. GM has priced the ENTIRE Corvette line out of reach of the average American consumer while Ford's Mustang line has continued to cover the entire spectrum of price decade after decade.

The average consumer buys the nameplate, not the performance. Customer Joe Schmoe wants a sports car but is very much lower/middle class. What does he buy? Oh that's right, a Mustang. Consumers see vehicles in VERY narrow categories: Meh it's a car (mid size sedan), Sports car, SUV, Truck, Minivan and Econobox. Those are your nameplate categories and that's all people really choose from. After choosing their preferred category they start looking at the bottom of the price ladder.

As usual GM has completely missed the train. However, the big 3 need to get their collective heads out of their asses. Times are rough, getting rougher and frivolous spending on pointless vehicles is coming to a screeching halt.
