lauren i think you under estimate the amount of work that a srt4 engine swap will take. you need to buy a forn clip custom weld your own motor mounts, custom weld your own tranny mounts, have a custom made axle, find a way to compltely re-wire the 2gnt to accept the signals from the foreign engine. your taking technology designed in 2000 and putting it in a car designed back in 1993. were not just talking a few weeks of downtime here but a few months atleast

basically as i said somewhere before it would probably be easier to swap a 4g63 in if you buy a wrecked 2g gst front clip at a junkyard.

OR you can do the right thing, sell it and buy a turbo. you could buy a red 2g gst and transfer the body parts over and sell the gs for $3k, and i know of a red gst forsale for $4000 so basically your paying $1000 for a engine swap and turbo. i dont know many 2g rs/gs turbo's that can last over 20k miles let alone over 150k miles like ambers talon. anyways i think for a highschool student with 0 time to work on a car selling the gs and buying a gst would be a better choice

i know the dedicated folks here will tell you a built turbo 420a is a sight to behold but realistically for a highschool student with a basically full time job you really cant afford the down time and dedication it would take to put up with the bullshit hahn fuel system and all the tuning and time under the car it would take. back when i had my rs i weighed my options. i could spend all my money and buy a turbo kit or i could go all show. looking back if i had bought a turbo kit i would have ruined my financial assetts putting up with a blown engine (and it seriously would have, i had massive leaking problems)
