You might check out the fuses to see if the connections are varnished or something like that. My GF's mom's Monte Carlo was acting funny electrically and the only thing I could find was sketchy were a couple of fuses that were sort of bronzed-looking on the contacts. Replaced them with new fuses and it's good as new. (HG is gone, but lights work right.)
