Well.....first off, my opinion/experience of Spec is extremely low. With that being said, I would find it a bit strange that they would alter dimensions for a modular set-up. But I guess its possible. I'm thinking your best bet (besides getting something else  ), would be to call Spec directly.
BTW, the flywheel you have, does not have any teeth on it right?Captain Caveman
