#7979, "installin fidanza alum flywheel"

K so if you look about 5 threads down my tranny exploded on me. Well since i have it all apart and ready for the new trans i figured i'd install my alum flywheel. I went on their site to see if they had torque specs listed and they dont but there is a note that says 96 and up need to use the 95 clutch and flywheel mounting bolts. Anyone know the part number for them or atleast what size/thread pitch i need.

I do not know the part numbers for them, but any Dodge dealer should be able to help you out.

Also, you have a non modular clutch correct?

Because that is what it means by 95 clutch and bolts.

You do need a longer bolt, since the non-mod flywheel is thicker than the modular flexplate. The part number is 6503464 and you need 8. I think they come pre-coated with blue loc-tite. I don't know the torque at the moment.

ok i reread it and i looked up the wrong plate sorry guys. in installin the modualer palte onto the cluth set up. like i had to drill out the rivets and then the flywheel bolts onto the pressure plate. Only problem im hving now is that im using the stock pressure plate and the findaza flywheel has these little knobs on the flywheel that i think are suppost to slide into holes on the pressure plate but they dont line up there like 1mm off each. Would it be ok to drill out the holes alittle wider so that the knobs fit in right.

Yup, just be careful when you bolt/rivet you modular together. You want to maintain alignment.

Is there a reason why you are putting an old stock PP back on? How many miles on it?

has around 10k on it. looks like new yet. Now heres the new problem. when i put the PP ontop of the flywheel and bolt it down theres a 3-5mm gap between the clutch and the PP. WTF! Guess they weren't design to be used with the stock crap

when i bought the flywheel i was told it was the flywheel from a spec clutch modualer set-up. So im thinkin that the spec pressure plate isn't has high as the stock pressure plate. So i wanna see if i can order just the pressure plate from their modualer set up

Well.....first off, my opinion/experience of Spec is extremely low. With that being said, I would find it a bit strange that they would alter dimensions for a modular set-up. But I guess its possible. I'm thinking your best bet (besides getting something else ), would be to call Spec directly.

BTW, the flywheel you have, does not have any teeth on it right?

yea it really doesn't make sense to me either. I realy dont understand why the stock pressure plate wouldn't work on the aftermarket flywheel. I mean wouldn't you think that aftermarket plates be designed after the stock one just made stronger?
Heres the Flywheel:

looks just like the stock flywheel but its got little lip on each side that the flywheel bolts too and that makes the flywheel thicker.

The pic does help me understand. Its a modular. So Spec makes a modular flywheel that makes you buy non modular parts with it. Uh...ok, lol.
