Our local club's dragday at LVD and I wanted to test some stuff out. I took the daily (the silver 96 RS with 164k (?) on it) out for some runs (10.5 comp, crower 2's, UDP, NO port on the head, different throttle bodies).

I had wanted to do some comparison runs with stock ECU vs MSnS and different throttle bodies. Just some research stuff. Unfortunately, some Hundah owner watered down one side of the track with coolant and we were relegated to only one lane. So I decided to just check out the throttle body situation. I first ran the stocker with the hump taken out (on MSnS). The best I could do was 15.205. Eh, not bad for a car that has 164k on the suspension and motor mounts etc. But I believed that the 60mm would do better.

Had to fight wheel hop and I could not speed shift. Just had to granny shift all the way through. So these times are actually a little higher than they should be, but they do show comaprison.

I then took the 60mm for a run (on MSnS). Sure enough 14.873@91.41! Yeah, pretty cool that she broke 15 seconds, but it just goes to show you what the 60mm can do for you. I'm a firm believer that as soon as you start modding up the air flow (not a CAI, but P+P intake or head, cams etc.) that the 60mm is the way to go. It would have been really cool to keep going with the other comparisons, but at that point there was quite a slow moving line for the one lane that I packed it in to hang out and actually WATCH all the guys run.

Hey, the stands are fun too
