Even an alarm they can break the drivers side door, pop your hood, and cut your siren in 15 seconds or less if they're even half assed about it. But, I'd get an alarm system with highly visible warning lights and make sure you pur the alarm sticker on the window. And try to get the installer to mount it in a very secure location (In my truck it was behing my gauges...couldn't find it at all). And find a place other than the engine bay for your alarm siren...there's all kinds of space under the rear bumper. Hide all wires and make it look as close to factory as possible. Other than that pray to the car gods every night.
