actually when i make a fibeglass box, i peel it off the mdf base and rings. if you make it strong enough, like your suppposed to, you dont need the wood with it. i have yet to use wood with the final product of making boxes out of fiberglass. i have yet to have one crack too on me.
edit: aaron, i wasnt trying to come off as an asshole just so you know. i was just stating a fact.
