that aux input on your cd playe is good for any audio source you wanna hook up (cd player, ipod, etc.) keep in mind though that it's still an analog signal so it won't be an extremely high quality signal. it might not be noticeable to you though. if you want a high quality signal from the ipod AND be able to control the ipod function from your head unit look into an Alpine, Pioneer, or Clarion deck with a compatible ipod control module. Alpine's got a year's head start but pioneer and clarion make some quality stuff as well. I'm still waiting to hear how the different modules compare before I decide which brand to look into.
