Hello, everyone. A very angry friend just signed over the title to me on a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder convertible. He got screwed over on a transmission job (meth addict mechanic) and the car sat for years with no trans. It is a 1996 spyder convertible with the 2.4 46g4 normally aspirated engine. He just went out and got a 2008 sebring ragtop and they would not take it on trade. I consider myself an above average mechanic. I am sure that I will have a lot of questions. I wil try to keep them intelligent. My first duty will be to search the threads for the answer to the question "what auto trans could I put in this car that will work -cheap as possible." So if anybody here has guru knowlege and or rolls there eyes and says "B2D" just point me in the right direction..okay? I'm a bit....ummm... older than some of you on the board and wil not be doing many performance mods on this car. Just trying to get it back to daily driver status. I'm not above changing ECU's and mounts if it saves big coin. I don't have a lot of disposable folding cash, so I'm going to troll for the least expensive parts I can. Well, thanks for the support. I'm going to look around the asylum now.I found a forum for the a6 auto trans, but was not able to find a place to ask f4a23 questions...anyone help? TBM-indianapolis.
