#59895, "fuel pressure (bought the SFMU FROM BILL - MOTOFOOL)"

Sup guys.
AGAIN guys... I NEED HELP!!! My fuel pressure WON"T GO DOWN STILL.
I finished all intercooler piping... all I need is the stupid fuel pressure.
(just to make sure, I disabled FPR, walbro 255HP, stock injectors)

OK..this is what I observed from experiment... Tell me what you think!
1) turning the top screw in or out (from all out to most in, the fuel pressure only changes 1 PSI the Most (if I see it right it goes from 55PSI to like 55.5 or 56PSI) so screw or unscrew it don't do anything except 1PSI the most.
2) when I opened the top lid of the SFMU and and just leave it open, then start the car, it's at 60PSI, which when I unhook the vaccum hose, it will go to 60PSI so basically even if I take over EVERYTHING, no disk, no spring no top lid... it still stay the same basically.
3) I unhooked the return fuel line and run it to a bucket, and the fuel pressure still 55PSI so it must not be the bad return line.
4) I finally take off EVERYTHING, and let the SFMU holding by my friend, and all the fuel line is straight down to the fuel rail and etc, and it still stay at 55PSI

NOW guys... what you guys think?? anything else other then that Bill (motofool) gave me a bad SFMU? I bought it brand new from him for $295 and now I put it on, and this is my problem.

Plesae tell me guys.
And BILL (motofool) can you give me some of your opinion also?
I will later just ask someone (hopefully I find one) their SFMU and put it in, if it works, then Bill, I want an exchange of another SFMU.
Thanks guys.
Gil

Please give me all your insights.

um... you disabled the stock fpr?
how you do that?, it should be a line from the pump to the fuel rail. with maybe a fuel filter inbetween. i dunno what exactly you got.

It's either the stock FPR or the S-FMU that's causing the problem. Start by testing the S-FMU to find your problem.

have you ran your new return line yet to see if that helps? Let me know how it goes when you install your 30# injectors we got. I'll be installing my SFMU & injectors in the next month so I'll be researching what needs to be done for tuning.

well, as I said,
I tried unhooking the return line and redirect it DIRECTLY to a bucket...so doesn't matter whta the stock return fuel line was..coz I DO"NT EVEN use it... And the pressure is still 55PSI... no matter what.... and eve nI turn the top lid screw.... all the way in or all the way out... still only 55PSI (I didn't turn all the way in...) don't want to damage it.

So help me guys!
Gil

why don't you swap sfmu with a fellow turbo 2gnt; maybe its broken?

it seems like you've gone through the gauntlet of possible causes.

alright where's your fuel pressure gauge hooked up. Also did you take out the valve thing on the fuel rail. I don't know much about the 1995 fuel system. The fuel pressure sensor should be in between the fuel rail and the sfmu i believe. Even though the pressure is high does the engine still run right. It could be the gauge. I just installed my sfmu and am installing my turbo kit but i haven't got a fuel gauge so sorry if this doesn't help. One more thing where'd you get that intercooler and what size is it?

In response to Reply # 9

Got it on Ebay..brand new Speacro.

OK GUYS

IT BOOST>..and IT IS SO DAMN FUN...NO I know what you guys mean...
SO DAMN FUN..... OH SHIT...all I have is a HUGE SMILE on my face...HAAHAA...and all the people on the street is looking at me.

Anyway...I HAVE HUGE PROBLEM.
I think the reason my fuel pressure never go down below 55PSI, coz my SFMU is broken. I am not sure still.
Coz now...even when I am boosting to 4PSI (my current wastegate limit) the fuel gauge still read 60 PSI.. and one update...now my idle fuel pressure is 60PSI also..>NO LOWER.

I do'nt get it.... I am boosting at 4PSI with intercooler and my fuel pressure is still 60PSI...VERY LOW...I am so worried about detonation.but I AM SO ADDICTED to boosting...GOD you guys won't konw how it feels... SO NICE...... STILL VERY HYPER about it.. .HAAHAA...

ANYWAY guys...now I will HOLD my self not to boost and fix the fuel... PLEASE..... even with boost it still read at 60PSI...is that mean my SFMU is FUCKED???

=============================
IMPORTANT...does any turbo changered eclipse with SFMU is around ALBANY NY area??? I want to change my SFMU to see if it works.
THanks.
