Hey everybody, I'm about to install my stage V HRC turbo kit, and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations to help the process go along smoother. Did anyone find anything particularly hard or was it all straight forward? If something was hard, do you think you could let me know to ensure that i don't make any mistakes. Any information or detailed pictures of anyone elses installs would also be greatly appreciated. This is going to be my first ever boosted car, I can't wait to join the boosted brotherhood!!!

You mean to say that you're going from stock to Stage 5 in one giant leap? Not a smart move. Especially if you're posting questions like this one. That's big time. You realize you're not looking at plug and play, bolt on and go with that sort of system, right? With great power comes great responsibility. The slightest mistake at those levels and poof! It's all gone and you have a crater where your 420A once was.
Good luck to you. HRC kits are quality and you should be able to install it just fine. Well, I think that if you're running a Stage 5 turbosystem, you should be required to be able to at least install it yourself.

if this post is for real, the kit should be done in about a month and a half. the stage 3 kit comes with pistons and rods for a rebuild. Considering the cost of a stage 5 kit i doubt this post has any credibility.

yea i can definately do it, i've got done a couple motor rebuilds before, i have a shop full of tools, and a master tech if i need him, so there shouldn't be a big problem, i was just wondering if something was especially easy to mess up.
and yes i got internals to whoever asked that, i'll post some pics of what i've got done so far

wow i just tried to make a post with all of my pictures but internet explorer just shut off, and it took forever, so I'm just going to give you the link to my webshots and you can look at it all there because i don't feel like posting that again. so here you go http://community.webshots.com/user/cmas00 enjoy!
As i was reading through the directions and kind of putting stuff together on my floor just to see how it goes, I think I'm missing some parts for the turbo's oil feed inlet. Well i have the peices, i just think they're the wrong ones, because the 90 degree elbow provided doesnt match up to the oil feed fitting provided. Either the elbow is too small, or the fitting is too large on that end. Did anyone else encounter this? I checked through all of my other fitting bags and couldn't find something that fit right, so i'm pretty sure that i need to call hahn and get them to send another over.
And everyones suggestions or warning or whatever is greatly appreciated. I feel more than capable to do this project, but like you all said, this is a lot of money, and I'm not going to be cocky about it, so I'll take as much help and advice from people who have been through it as I can!

I think it's great that you're jumping to stage 5 right off the bat. I'm stage 5 plus some and have been through a lot of setups on my engine. I wish I would have bought a stage 5 setup the first time. With all the extra money I've spent swapping turbo parts, I could have blown the engine and rebuilt it a couple times.
Anyways... everything in the stage 5 kit is pretty easy and stright forward to install. HRC is known for leaving small parts out of the kit or sending wrong parts sometimes. So double check what you received and let them know ASAP if anything isn't right.
Again, I have no tip for you other than take your time and do it right. Ask questions here even if it seems stupid. Oh yeah, ignore the jealous fuckers who don't think you should have bought a stage 5 kit.
