Lets just say I was doing some spirited driving and a ended up sliding into a curb at 65mph or so and broke the hub where it attaches to the strut tube. I also turned my tie rod into a nice pretty "J" shape and curbed the hell outta two of my rims.
My question is.....can I replace just the rod, or do I have to completely replace the steering rack? Also, since the car is down I'm going to replace the clutch since I already have the disk. Jeff, I've done several 2GNT clutches and one 1G FWD clutch, what advice can you give me on my first AWD. Any info is appreciated.

As long as it is just the rod, that should be all you need to replace. As for the tranny, it is the same as a 1g FWD except for that pesky transfer case. Be careful not to drop it on your face
