4412, Tragedy strikes the Laser. Q's

Lets just say I was doing some spirited driving and a ended up sliding into a curb at 65mph or so and broke the hub where it attaches to the strut tube. I also turned my tie rod into a nice pretty "J" shape and curbed the hell outta two of my rims.

My question is.....can I replace just the rod, or do I have to completely replace the steering rack? Also, since the car is down I'm going to replace the clutch since I already have the disk. Jeff, I've done several 2GNT clutches and one 1G FWD clutch, what advice can you give me on my first AWD. :) Any info is appreciated.

As long as it is just the rod, that should be all you need to replace. As for the tranny, it is the same as a 1g FWD except for that pesky transfer case. Be careful not to drop it on your face :)
