Well due my most recent problem with my headunit, I am forced to buy an amp sooner than I expected. I am looking at a 5 Channel Eclipse amp. Keep in mind when checking out the specs that I only plan on doing a small system this time and I am aiming for SQ, nothing fancy just want crisp clean sound with a single 12" Aluminum Eclipse Sub wish handles 500watts RMS

I have components all the way around (well, DID) but I always have the rears toned way down. Most guys put a 6.5 coaxial in the rear. If you're really going for SQ then you should be running a mono signal to your rear inputs on that 4 channel amp that has been run through a high/lowpass filter running in the range of 1500hz to 10khz. The rears are only for "fill" and putting a midrange pass to them at mono will make your front sound stage jump out at you brilliantly.

Yea, I hear you.. If I can tune the fronts good to provide the vocals louder than I will just throw the backs on mono. I'm hoping I can. I have 5.25 up front so they have been distorting at high volume so I been setting the volume back on them. They don't handle rap music that well, but I'm sure it will get better when I have the backs filling in more.

"Brilliant" is a term used in the car audio industry meaning crisp highs and extremely defined stereo positioning. It has nothing to do with Christopher Lowell shouting "fabulous" constantly.
And you're calling me hef yet you're the one who thought of Christopher Lowell while I'm talking about car stereo equipment?
