Can I use the SRT4 bottom end (short block) instead of an EDZ/cloud car?
Is the reason we don’t/cant , b/c it’s a different crank pick up style (nyg?) If so, I have MSII (full stand alone), so I should be able to jump over that hurtle

The other obstacles are standard: Pass side motor mount needs to be fabbed, as well as an oil pan that clears the cross member
And of course Use our head. Am I missing anything? Alt bracket and issue?

Also I don’t plan on running PS or AC.

or am i running in to ground clearance with the balance shaft in the srt4 bottom end.?

In short, no. There are other differences between an EDZ 2.4 and an A853.

No worries. If you've already gotten a hold of an A853, let me know I'm looking for a spare. Or if you're hellbent on having an SRT engine, I'll sell you mine. 8k and I'll throw in the rest of the car for free. :P

There are ways to mate the 2.0L head to the SRT4 2.4L block, but they involve bolocking off oil drainbacks and adding plumbing to allow the oil to drain from the head. it's complicated and not really worth the work.

This is a good article describing some generational changes to the 2.4s:

Son of a bitch. I need to dig around the wiki a bit more :p

EDIT:

The article I linked is about the 2.4 and variants, not the 2.0.
