Removing the thermostat is a good "no cost" way to have better cooling. Of course, where you live has a lot to do with whether or not you SHOULD do it. I'm in Southern California, so I can get away with it. The car takes a little longer to heat up. But it's a small price to pay having better cooling. So if you live in a reasonable area to do so, remove your thermostat. Anybody who knows why this might be a bad idea, please post. I did this to my last eclipse for a year, and just recently removed the thermo on my NT-turbo. So, I have no reason to believe it does any harm.
