A wideband should last about 40,000 to 80,000 miles on average as long as you obey the following rules:

1.) Never run leaded gas, and yes this can include race gas for a long length of time
2.) Never run the car with the wideband sensor in the exhaust stream but not plugged into the wideband controller, this will lead to death for the wideband sensor!

Nice thing about my Bosch LSU4.2 sensor is that I can buy a new one for $30... so if it does it don't matter much to the wallett!
