That's exactly what having a car with tires that toe out feels like. (Tires pointing away from each other, when viewing the front of the car.) The steering wheel doesn't want to go straight and will find any excuse (bump or pothole) to turn to one side or the other. The opposite of this is when the tires toe in, then the car will automatically align itself straight and doesn't feel like turning much.
You've mentioned you've gotten the car aligned and realigned, but have you gone to a different shop? It could be that the alignment shop has incorrect specs, or are just incapable.
