So a couple months ago my eclipse randomly popped out the spark plug on cylinder one stripped the threads in the process. Didn't really have the time to fix it with a new job and needed a daily driver so I ended up just buying a used 350Z and the Eclipse has been sitting ever since.
I've got some free time now and I'm wondering if anyone's encountered this problem on a 420a before and what's the best course for repair? Is it better to just replace the head or should I helicoil or something? The head's in otherwise good shape and was checked out when I had a cracked exhaust valve replaced at about 150k.
Now that the Eclipse isn't my DD I can treat it as more of a project car and down time isn't much of an issue. It's at almost 200k but runs reasonably well and I had recently redone most of the suspension prior to popping the spark plug (shocks, poly bushings, new R&P). I'm thinking about possibly finally going turbo as well.
