I know there are probably other posts about this, but I wanted to get some fresher feedback on this.
My car seems to shift ok, I mean, I don't grind or anything.. but the actual motion on the shifter seems a bit... clunky? I have a 98 ESi and sometimes it's just a bit reluctant to go into gear. It feels like, when I shift, that I get to a stopping point (small amount of pressure) and then get the same response going into a gear... almost like it's moving through some sort of gate. Granted, my knowledge of manual transmissions is incredibly weak, so this is a mixture of "is something wrong?" and "I need to learn what makes this do that." I've heard that the NT transmissions are a bit.. funky and it's just par for the course. Is this the case? Can I replace any linkages and see if that smoothes it out? Or am I just nitpicking here? Any info is greatly appreciated as, so far, all I know about MTX is what I've read on howstuffworks.com (granted, might seem goofy going there, but it's such a great site)... Thanks!
