#9954, "reality starting to kick in again, need advice"

Well, i'm once again considering all the possible hedaches of the turbo. I'd love to have boost but it just seems that there is too much maintanence involved and reliablity affected. I only have my car and i drive 25 miles to school every day, and its impossible to find someone around here with the same schedule and i hate bumming rides anyway. My compression is good, 180 all across give or take 2-3, but that ain't the only thing, especially with 90K. Plus i don't have the time every weekend to figure out things that are wrong, plus i ain't much of a mechanic, all i can do is change oil, plugs and do bolting and unbolting ish.
I really need to make a final decidsion cause i've gone on and off wth this forever.

good thing all you can do is bolt and unbolt because thats all you need to do installing the turbo..its really an easy install.

Well I have a Star stage I and LOVE it! Nothing like boost. No domestic that I have ever built has even given nearly the same feeling. But after reading your post I think that you've already made your decision. I'm not trying to piss on your parade but it doesn't sound like boost is going to be your REASONABLE choice right now. If you got the need for speed, get yourself a nice NOS set-up. With Stan and some of the other fellas they can reccomend proper ways of setting up stuff(much cheaper than turbo) and it won't affect your day to day life!

Shit is all apart. Typical...

your going to take a risk anyway you go. nos, turbo, or all motor. there's no guarantee that you won't have probs not matter what. there are people who have never had probs boosting or using nos. then again i'm sure you've heard about the many people who have not been so lucky. if it was up to me i'd go turbo and try your best to prevent anything bad from happening. check the gauges, reg maintenance and don't overboost. and you can bet i'll be boosting sooner or later, no later than august with built internals, etc. just have no $$ right now. emoji sucks

I dont regret it. even if I had of blown it up it would have been worth all the ass whippins and stares when I open the hood. I never had any turbo related problems, I have and old ass car problem.

yea hes right its worth every penny, especially your first ride around the block, its crazy...after all that wasted money on headers and intakes and trying to feel a power gain that just isnt there you actuall get a little kick in the ass.
