#99019, "Oil Return Line Question"
Feb-04-07 05:18 AM by totaleclipse_05

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get everything I'm going to need to make my own -10 AN return line setup instead of going with the rubber hose again. I found the stainless steel line and various fittings off of Summit, but I have just a quick question. I did a search on this and I don't remember who, but they recommended that I use a 60* fitting on the oil pan. I can't find a 60* -10 AN fitting on Summit. Only ones I found were 45* and 90*. Would either of those be okay? I am just worried about being able to clear my downpipe and I don't know if a 45* will be able to do it. Is 90* okay to use or will that be too sharp of an angle for the oil to flow well? Thanks in advance guys.

EDIT:
Here's the fittings I found:

45*

90*

Well, I personally use the CI kit and it was a 90* fitting going to the pan. I haven't had any issues with it myself.

Alright cool. I will probably go with the 90* then. I did find a 60* fitting from Earl's, but it was like 30 bucks just for the fitting and I don't want to spend that much.

Do any of you guys have pics of how it is ran to it? Or how much stainless line you used? I just want to see how a couple guys are running theirs. The kits I usually see come with only 1.5 ft of line and I don't know if that is usually enough so I was going to go with 3 ft from Summit just to be on the safe side.

It all depends on how you plan on running it bro...with my old setup I had bought a 20" i believe, and it had to do a lot of dancing haha. Then again, I haven't wrenched on a car in over a month, so I'm going through withdrawals and probably talkin outta my booty.

I want to see pics of your return lines. I use a 45* and it works pretty good.

BTW I have a 90* I never used if anyone would like to buy one at a cheaper price.
