#98539, "Can I run 20 psi???"

Hey everyone...I just joined the forum, but i have been searching and doing research for a while. My question is... I have a 98 Gs, and I am building it this winter. I will be running...

Je 8.8:1 pistons
Eagle Rods
Clevite 77 bearings
ARP Heads and mains
Cometic Headgasket
Melling oil pump
new water pump
Cam gears
T3/To4e turbo
FMIC
Innovate Wideband
Pte 680cc injectors
Safc-II
Aeromoitve 1:1
Walbro 255

Will i be able to run 20 Psi with this setup? Did I leave anything off my list? Thanks in advance,

-Joel

Your going to need some sort of SFMU to control the fuel with your bigger injectors. I haven't done enough research myself on your question so that's all I have to say.

Yup,i agree with totaleclipse, you need an sfmu or if you really want to push it higher, get megasquirt. But add the SFMU and missing link to your list and tuning.

I know i need the missing link or some sort of fuel cut defender. I did forget to list that. but even if i run the aeromotive 1:1 afpr i still need the sfmu?

Most cost efficient options:

1. Megasquirt - gives you the ability to run injectors larger then 450s w/ 1:1 fpr and no need for a FCD

2. Portfueler - run stock 235 primaries and 440 secondaries w/ 1:1 fpr

3. Vortech SMFU - 440s w/bleed valve and of course the correct disk/ring/spring combo.

Remember high impedence injectors with everything unless you have the MS with the flyback board.

My vote would be MS!

As you can see, you can't use a 1:1 unless going with megasquirt or portfueler, and if you're planning on running 20 psi then I would definetly get one or the other instead of using an sfmu. My vote would be portfueler or a similar 8 injector setup, of course I'm thinking of passing emissions and being clueless on megasquirt.

Yea to run 20 pounds I would go megasquirt if you feel comfortable with wiring and tuning. If not I would go with portfueler. At 20psi I wouldn't want an SFMU running things, not enough control for me, but some people do it and it works for them.

Thanks for the advice. Emissions aren't in my area anymore so no worry there. I really want megasquirt, but am kinda uncertain of the tuning, but i am willing to try everything once. I may just have to pick up a sfmu and run around 10-12 psi, then go megasquirt a little later.

I ran 25psi on a SFMU, SAFC and FCD. It worked, was risky, but it worked.

Since then, I am changing to MSnS.

My vote is MS, 1:1 and big injectors.

My vote is S-AFC and a big set of balls! That is, if we're taking votes.

Go MS, it's more intimidating than difficult, just read up and ask some questions, you'll get it.
