#97848, "How Much Boost Can I safely Run With 270cc Injectors?"

My engine rebuild is almost done with 8.8:1CR. My injectors now are currently 270cc. I plan on running 15PSI of boost after break-in. I will also only be running an FMU.

So... I know there is someone out there with a similar setup. I'd like some experienced knowledge on this if possible. My current setup is in my sig.

Please...do yourself a favor and upgrade fuel management to at least an S-FMU if you don't wanna risk blowing up your new motor

EDIT: bigger injectors too...you'll be at max duty cycle by 10psi or so...hell, I have green top 440's that technically are done at the 12-13psi range. meh, to each his own I guess emoji

Ok, this is info that I didnt know. I will get my friends 550's off of his RX-7. I also dont know why an S-FMU is so much better than a regular FMU. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the only difference between the two is that you are able to adjust the idle fuel pressure.

I'm open up to everything because to be honest, I dont really know all that much about what I'm doing, so the help is greatly appreciated.

The sfmu you can adjust static pressure and use the bleed port for boost too.

440's you can run up to around 17psi too/

OK how are you going to use rx7 injectors??? I mean. theres 2 550's ie:primary injectors.

An sfmu is adjustable. FMU is not. Thats what's better emoji

With larger injectors you need less fuel pressure. Does that not make sense?

you can not run a fmu with bigger injectors . with 550's your idle should be around 15psi . your fmu will be at 55psi at idle

You can use a FMU w/ bigger injectors if you buy the recalibration kits for them, but they still suck cock, and like you said, wont idle good.

Well, the reason I'm going 550's is because my friend is going to basically give them to me for 50 bucks. And I'm looking into getting an s-fmu now. Dont worry guys, I dont care if I look like a tard asking all these questions, I just want it to get done right.
