What is the best gap for plugs in our 420a's? I recently noticed mine were gapped to .060 which was what was causing my car to bog down at 5krpm range. Damn father putting my plugs in for me. LOL I guess if you want something done right you need to do it yourself. Well, I was reading my Mitsu manuel and it says gap 0.043-0.053. I gapped them at an even 0.045 and the car seems to work a hell of a lot better than it did at 0.060. What do you guys gap yours at??

.030-.035 with one range colder plugs. (turbo) .055 when NA with one range hotter plugs.

I have NGK Iridiums, anyone know the colder/hotter range??? With the MSD ignition what is the best gap?? I plan on getting it soon so just for future reference I would like to know ahead of time. Maybe a blaster coil, can you get those for our cars??

RRE says to gap turbo plugs at .028 I think. Mine are gapped at .030 and seem to do fine. Spark plugs and turbos suck! I buy them by the boxfull now cause it seems like I always need new plugs.

Soemthing I learned the other day is that the -11 in the NGK description (NGK BKR6E-11) defines that it come with a .060 gap which is designed for .035-.060. I am assuming there is one available without the -11 that is designed for .025-.035. I will look into this when I go home friday (woohoo - so close). Oh, it is usually best to gap to .028 for safety. If you have an MSD which increases your chances of getting a spark, you can get away with more. I am now gapping to .032 and recently to .035. I am still trying that out though. The bigger the gap the more power you make, but it would also increase you chance of misfire.

Hey, thanks for telling us that Murix, I have been looking for a good explanation like that. I suppose they will mess with plug gap and let me know what the best when my car is dyno tuned in a few weeks, huh?

So if I am running my NGK Iridiums at 0.045 and its running fine with no misfires at all then I should just keep it there instead of dropping the gap???
