So i come back home after reading tons of info on setting up the SAFC and the AVCR. Do the basic set up procedures, turn the key and it starts but then quickly dies. Do this several times and get the same thing.

MAP Sensor high output. The only info on the board was clean the missing link. I dont have one yet, its in the mail. However the car started and was running just fine two days ago without the missing link. Besides there should be 0 boost at idle anyways so the MAP sensor should not be tripping out.

Car not running, On the screens the nunmbers show

AVCR
Boost 0.11
REV o
INJ 0
THR 0

SAFC II

REV 0
KAR 3 HZ
COR 0.0%
THR 0.0%

What is KAR and is mine right?
Why is it showing boost when the car isnt even running?
And when i do start it shows INJ at 99.4% is that right?

Someone get this POS to run!

1st of all, its not a POS...

2nd you have your SAFC set up way wrong. Search. In fact there are write ups regarding the correct settings for an SAFC on a 2GNT. Perhaps you didn't hook it up right either. Check the connections.
The SAFC "alters" the MAP output signal... sound familiar? Your CEL was for what again? MAP signal? hmmmm.

Setting up the SAFC according to the write ups seems to be my error. It seemed to be working ok until I adjusted it per the wrtie ups.

Im not the one who wired it but, I definetly tore it aprart tonight to verify it. Every things seems ok besides the fact that he used the purple wire for some thing. I have not been able to verify that one.'

Its difficult when the performance shop you sent the car to ends up frying your entire ECU wire bundle, then to fix it they cut out all the burnt parts and jerry rig some connectors. This also translates into the fact that they burnt the SAFC wire harness as well so between the firewall and the ECU it turns from the factory wire harness into freakin telephone wire!

Now how about the white wire for the AVCR (speed sensor wire) i cant seem to find a wire for that to go to? Or is it worthless?

Kar is a frequecy. You want it to read pressure cause you have a MAPressure) sensor.

Double and triple check thier connections. The purple wire isn't used in our application IIRC.

Also, now that you have an safc you can fuck with it so much it's really easy to blow your motor up. Make sure you know what you doing. I'm gonna say that again.

Make sure you know what your doing.

That article you posted is a good one. the first part of it is in the Tech section but i noticed that it goes way more into detail. or maybe its just my computer but when ever i click on the tech article on this site it only shows me the first part of it.

Im planning on redoing the "telephone wire part" I bought a bunch of colored spools of wire to match the original harness. all they had though was 18 guage.

any EE's out there think a thicker guage wire would distort the signal?
